For Charity: Water’s annual fundraising gala, All of it Now was brought on to design, program, and operate the 360° visual system for the Halo, an 88-foot-diameter LED ring installed at the San Francisco Armory. The installation combined 360° video supplied by Bodega Studios and Charity: Water partners with generative graphics developed in-house at AOIN, creating a continuous visual environment around the audience.
At the center of the experience was a custom donation platform designed to turn fundraising activity into live visual content. Each guest received a personalized tablet to make a donation, with the data feeding directly into AOIN’s generative graphics system. Names, pledge amounts, and the tangible impact of each donation were visualized on the Halo in real time, allowing the installation to evolve continuously throughout the evening.
The donation system was built to manage more than 500 tablets simultaneously, processing incoming data and driving the generative Totalizer graphics across a display more than 14,000 pixels wide. Notch and WebGL were used together to generate and update the visuals in real time, while a disguise GX2 media server handled playback and output for the 360° LED display.
The system was designed to operate reliably at the scale of a live fundraising event, connecting hundreds of individual interactions to a single shared visual environment. By the end of the evening, the Halo had helped visualize more than $7 million in donations, funding a new water drilling rig and projects serving communities across Ethiopia.
